The IB Middle Years Programme is designed for students aged 11 to 16. Smith’s partner along the IB Partnership Pathway is East Garner Magnet Middle School – which received a Schools of Distinction award from Magnet Schools of America in 2008-09.
EGMMS Mission Statement:
To educate the children in our community providing a relevant and challenging curriculum that prepares students to be successful today and tomorrow.
Students at East Garner take all eight core subject areas as defined by the IB MYP. These include: Language A, Language B, Humanities (Social Studies), Mathematics, Science, Technology, Physical Education (Healthful Living), and Art.
