Message from Kim Uhlik, PTA President

Dear Parents, Teachers, Staff, and Administration,

The 2009-2010 Smith Magnet Elementary School year is a new beginning.  We have a new building, a new PTA Board and an exciting schedule of events.  Together as parents and teachers, we can be an example of the ideal place for young children to develop and grow.

With that said, we need your assistance.  Please come join the PTA and make a difference in a child's life.  We invite you to come to any of our PTA Planning Meetings, held one each month at 6 pm.  Please contact Smith Magnet Elementary School for scheduling information.

 PTA events planned for this year include the Fall Festival, Spring Fling, Winter Dance, Spirit Nights at Chik-fil-A and McDonalds, Fundraiser, Holiday Shop, Skate Nights, and finally Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week.

New this year, we will be selling Smith Magnet Elementary School T-shirts; long and short sleeve, V-neck T-shirts, Crewneck sweatshirts, hooded sweatshirts, and Denim long and short sleeve shirts.  You may purchase any of these during the school year.  Order forms will be sent home and we will have order forms available in the office.

PTA encourages each of you to be a part of Smith Magnet Elementary PTA.  By joining the PTA, you are not only showing that you care about your children, but you are also showing that you care about all the children at Smith.  A small donation of your time goes a long way in a child's life.

We are looking forward to a great year at Smith Magnet Elementary School.
